How To Bid

The Auction system built into this website functions through the social media tool “Twitter.”  Twitter is a powerful communication tool that allows users to follow one another and stay apprised of each other’s activities and interests.  For our purposes each auction item can be bid on from within the Swan Creek Auction website, from the twitter website, or from your mobile device.  If you do not have a twitter account you can sign up at www.twitter.com as it is the only way you may bid on the auction items.

After you have registered for Twitter you must then register for the auction on this website.  By registering for the auction you also agree to our “Bidding Policy” which can be found on this website.  If you do not register your bids will not be recognized, recorded or honored in any fashion in regards to this auction.

Each auction item has been given a unique “twitter name” which can be followed for updates throughout the bidding week.  If you are interested in a specific item we suggest you follow that item on twitter so that you can stay aware of the current price and make bids to stay on top of the item you wish to win.  Each item has been given a twitter name that is the chef’s full first name, second two letters of their last name, and then the letters SC for Swan Creek.

For example:  if you were interested in the dinner from Rick Gresh you would follow the twitter name: “RickGrSC”

Bidding follows a very specific format in order to ensure that all bids are registered and recorded.  The easiest and most efficient way to bid is to simply choose the auction item you are interested in from this web site and then enter your twitter name, password, and bid amount.  Twitter can take a few minutes to record your bid so don’t worry if you don’t immediately see your bid in the live twitter feed.  The format the bid is taken in is: @AuctionItem Price #scf$

If you would like to bid from your own twitter applications or from the twitter website you simply need to follow that format and be a registered bidder on the website.

An example of a bid from the twitter website for the Rick Gresh Dinner would look like this:
@RickGrSC $500 #scf$

Remember your bid will only be received if you have first registered on the Swan Creek Auction web site.  If you experience any issues please do not hesitate to contact Benji @benjiscreativeventures.com or on twitter as “BenjisCV.”

Good luck bidding!
